Wicked R

I just want to say Thank You! to everyone who came out to JulyFest! We had a wonderful event and we could not have done it without you! Especially thanks to everyone who volunteered to help – Jodi, you deserve a halo and a long vacation somewhere with frozen drinks and cabana boys!

And to everyone who performed – Wow, ladies! just wow! I realize I was wearing down fast, but you all really brought the energy and made it rock! Thanks!

So looking ahead, I’m going to be putting together something of a class schedule for the Bookman’s class – we’ll be covering certain things every class, but I’ll be trying to add more variety as we go along – if you have something you’d like to see covered (a prop, a style, a certain move) please feel free to let me know – I am also still working on getting a guest instructor(s) for the last Sunday – we’ll see how that goes…

For the Children of Isis – I’m working on a upcoming opportunity for us to perform – we will be choosing  a new song to work on, and if this thing I’m thinking of works out, it’s gonna be alot of fun! ;)

So have a great weekend, ladies! I’ll see you next week!

Practice yesterday was fabulous! Thanks so much to everyone who came! Keep working on practicing in your boots – I don’t want anyone to sprain an ankle the day we perform (especially me!)

So the plan is that we will practice Boots, Black Sun and Wish after regular class on Sundays – I’m going to need a definite list of who is coming to perform at JulyFest so I can start blocking Black Sun and Boots. Wish I would like for everyone to come and perform at Maui Wowi in June!

Costume ideas: for Boots, either the 60-70′s hippy look, or if you want to be more like the video, a more Mod Squad look. I’ll be happy with either one – I’m going more mod squad with a short skirt and crop top in black velvet.

for Black Sun, I’m thinking something very simple. I’m going with my black dance pants, silk tye-top, black w/gold coin hip belt. I don’t recommend anything in velvet because it will catch on the veil.

I will endeavor to remember to bring the cd’s next week – and check out the side bar, there is a link directly to the JulyFest Workshop page!

See ya’ll on Sunday! Wicked R

I’ve have just finished putting the choreography together for Boots – Holy Cow this is gonna be fun!
This is the list I have of people who wanted to do this with me:
Tammy, Gladys, Rhonda, MaryB. Mary Margeret? Vivian and Tara.

I’ve checked the Bookman’s Calendar and it doesn’t look like anyone is in the room after class until 6pm – so I’m going to start teaching the Boots choreography this Sunday, and start pulling together costume ideas.

… to get the beginning of the “Black Sun” choreography video’ed and up here, but, of course, the moment I have everything else arranged, the battery in my camera dies… *lol* Murphy just loves us, doesn’t he? I will get the video done before class on Sunday, and have it up after that.

but I will get the choreography hard copies back up as soon as possible AND I will try to include a video of the choreographies as well – I’m hoping to get as much feedback from ya’ll on what you would like to see out here. Stay Tuned!

I’m setting up a new website for The Children of Isis. I hope to have videos here and music clips – one of the ambitious projects I’m thinking of for the New Year is belly-dance mini clips of the different moves we’re trying to learn – we’ll see how it goes!
